Frequently Asked Questions

What can non-medical in-home care do for you?

Most people don’t realize how helpful non-medical, in-home services can be until they have the need for this type of help in their lives. These services can support the independence and enhance quality of life of yourself or a family member.

How will you know when it is time to get in-home care?

When the basic Activity of Daily Living (ADL) become unsafe or too difficult to handle alone. Help with ADL could allow an individual to remain in their own home safely and for a longer period of time.

What services does Private Home Care offer?

Our services have different levels, from light housekeeping, cooking, laundry, medication reminders and transportation to more in-depth care, including 24 hour and hospice. Our staff is hospice certified.

What is the cost for an in-home assessment?

Why is it important the company is insured and bonded?

It is important that the person or company you hire to take care of your loved one is insured and bonded. Bonds protect the consumer (client) from such things as fraud and theft. Liability insurance protects the consumer (client) from being responsible when/if the staff gets hurt while working with your loved one or on your property.

Do you cover my area?

Maine is a rural state, and our coverage area depends on many things! Please feel free to call us and ask!

How can in-home care help our family?

Having trained professionals attend to increasing needs often benefits the entire family. Family members are spared from becoming full-time care-takers and the individual with the need is also spared the feeling of losing dignity, or becoming a burden and tend to stay more independent.
